Job Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Medical/Health Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Mission and Contribution of this position: Description General SummaryUnder the guidance of the Respiratory Care Administrative Director, Manager, Supervisor or Clinician, and according to specific instructions and established Departmental Policies and Procedures, the Registered Sleep Technologist provides care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems. The Registered Sleep Technologist delivers care to individuals in all age categories, including geriatric, adult, and adolescents and in a limited capacity to pediatrics and the newborn. The Registered Sleep Technologist assists the physician in consulting on specific patient care for sleep procedures. Minimum Education: Two Year DegreePreferred Education: Four Year Degree Minimum years in field previous to employement: Two yearsMinimum Job QualificationsMinimum 2 years experience in polysomnography (CPT 95808, 95810 : Sleep staging), utilizing a polygraph or digital equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working level proficiency in computer word processing programs such as Microsoft Word. Working level proficiency in the precise application of the standard monitors used in the collection of polysomnographic data. Licensure, Certification and/or Registration (LCR):RRT or CRT credentials as issued by the National Board for Respiratory CareRPsgT, Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, or if RRT, MD, Phd with Sleep Experience.Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of TexasBLS (healthcare provider level) certification, American Heart Association.ACLS provider certification preferred but not required.
