Regional Home Health Biller

Primary position responsibilities:   Timely bills and collects for all assigned home health agencies in the region. Troubleshoots on claims being held for billing. Troubleshoots on claims not being processed by the FI or other carriers. Provides reports to Director of HH CBO, VP Home Health, Regional Controllers, HH Directors and others regarding problem areas within claims processing that need to be addressed. Consults with regional home health agencies on billing questions regarding home health billing software and processes. Proposes improved work processes for regional agencies that can contribute to a more effective billing and collections system. Batches bills from each agency on a daily basis. Verifies that bills are clean and ready to be submitted to the FI or other carrier, based on regulations. Inquires about bills that are not ready to be released for billing by the regional agencies. Releases claims to the FI or other carrier. Follows up on all claims as necessary. Posts remittance advices on all claims. Follow up with Directors of Home Health regarding claims submitted, paid, and outstanding. Secondary position responsibilities:  Complies with company compliance plan and standards on all billing practices. Reports to work on time and notifies supervisor according to policy when unable to report for work as assigned. Maintains work area and reports malfunctions of assigned equipment. Demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, problems solving, and prioritizing. Complies with all company policies. Maintains confidentiality according to company policy and HIPAA guidelines. Exhibits a positive approach to customer service and staff interactions. Maintains a professional appearance and work environment. Supports and respects management decisions in a positive manner. Addresses concerns through appropriate channels.
