Registered Dietitian- Part Time

The Clinical Dietitian is a registered, licensed/certified dietitian who is qualified through education, training, and experience in administrative, educational and clinical nutrition skills.  The dietitian provides analysis of residents’ (new and existing) nutritional needs, which will result in optimal health of the resident. The Dietitian ensures that nutritional requirements are incorporated into dining services production and operations. The Clinical Dietitian provides overall planning for, recommendations for, documentation of, and control of resident/patient nutritional needs in the facility to within requirements of company standards and policies and statutory requirements. He/she provides nutritional guidance to Dining Service Directors, resident, nursing staff, and other key client personnel.  He/she establishes and maintains effective resident, nursing, and client rapport through regular contact, active listening and timely addressing of concerns or problems.Provides overall planning for, direction to and control of the patient meal service experience and clinical nutrition programs.  Responsible for patient satisfaction monitoring and assurance, quality improvement, employee training and development, patient screening and assessment and area/department management. Clinical Dietitians are charged with training and directing all diet office, tray-line and clinical Team Members towards achieving the two primary goals above through consistently high performance levels that meet and exceed resident and client expectations. Reports to: Director of Corporate Clinical Nutrition Services Responsibilities: Ensuring excellent levels of patient satisfaction as measured by internal and external survey tools. Establish and maintain systems patient screening and assessment as appropriate for patient population and regulatory compliance. Establishes and maintains budget for diet office and clinical services. Act as member of team on key hospital wide committees as applicable. Team member hiring, training, development and retention. Promotes wellness through nutrition promotion in retail dining; develops healthy menu selection of the day.  Participates in and promotes National Nutrition Month activities.  Works with management team in patient and retail menu evaluation and development. Evaluates reimbursement potential of outpatient nutrition counseling program and further develops accordingly. Provides clinical coverage as needed for inpatient, outpatient and group classes. Consistently works with Team Members to assure that programs are innovative and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.Supervisor Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the Clinical Dietitian must work collaboratively residents/patients, client representatives, Dining Service Director and Team Members and provide advice regarding regulatory compliance matters/issues. FLSA status: exempt. Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Education: BS in Nutrition/Dietetics, Food Science or Culinary Arts. Successful completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent. Masters Degree preferred.In absence of a bachelor’s degree, a candidate must have an Associate’s Degree and have completed the Certified Dietetic Manager program (or state equivalent). Experience: Registered Dietitian. Member of the American Dietetic Association. Specialty certification; CDE, CNSD desirable. 5 years clinical experience. 2-3 years managerial/supervisory experience. Proven ability to promote positive change to increase patient satisfaction. Ability to maintain relations with other client departments.5+ years related experience and/or training at Dining Services Director level or equivalent level (preferably in a Long Term Care or Acute Care environment); or equivalent combination of education and experience. PC Skills: Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to details!!Position requires working knowledge of the following applications: MS Office (e.g., MS Word, Excel, E-mail, data base management).
