Overview: Labor and Delivery Unit Description: • Level III facility with 24 hour in-house coverage provided by Obstetricians, Perinatologists, Anesthesia, Neonatologists. • Private maternity patients admitted at all stages of pregnancy • Serves both high and low risk patients • All uncomplicated vaginal deliveries take place in the LDR setting • 650 plus deliveries each month • Three OR suits for scheduled as well as unscheduled cesarean sections, postpartum tubal ligations, and D & C's Number of Beds in this Service:• 26 LDR rooms • Three surgical rooms • Eight recovery beds • Ten triage evaluation beds Care Delivery Concept:Total patient care in L&D. Family centered care in a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities: Assess, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies; and, in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. The Registered Nurse utilizes specialized knowledge, judgement, and nursing skills necessary to assess data, plan/provide/evaluate care appropriate to the physicial and developmental age of patients on the assigned unit. Qualifications: RN License valid in Arizona prior to start date. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Minimum of 1 years experience in high volume level III Perinatal serviceline. Must have NRP and BCLS. ACLS, active AWHONN or National Fetal Monitor Certification preferred. Call required: must commit to three 4-hour blocks of call within the four-week schedule.
