AMRTC is a tertiary care psychiatric hospital, accepting only committed patients as transfers from other facilities in the eight-county Twin Cities metropolitan area.  Our 200-bed inpatient mental health facility consists of eight 25-bed units.  One of these units is dedicated to the treatment of psychiatric patients with comorbid medical conditions, one is devoted to the management of “Rule 20” treat to competency patients, and one is for patients with high levels of behavioral acuity. The remaining five units are general psychiatric units. Our average length of stay is about 70 days.

 

Job Duties: Assumes administrative over site and takes a lead role in directing, and monitoring activities associated with patient care management, treatment team process, and environmental management on two acute medical/psychiatric patient care units. 

 

Qualifications:  MN RN Licensure or eligible for licensure.  Bachelor of Nursing Degree and a minimum of five years nursing experience in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing, including two years experience at the supervisory level.  Demonstrated sustained clinical excellence. Geriatric or Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist or Practitioner preferred.  Knowledge and skill in assessment, planning, problem solving, decision making, initiation, action, directing, and monitoring and evaluation.  Knowledge of evidence based practices, current theories and trends for care of the physically and mentally ill population.  Knowledge of teaching/learning principles.  Knowledge of quality improvement process. Knowledge of outside resources for nursing practice and skill and ability to acquire and utilize information from these resources. Knowledge of licensing standards. Reliable, flexible, good communication skills.

 

Benifits: We offer a competitive base salary. In addition, the state's contribution toward your insurance, retirement, and Medicare and Social Security benefits is equal to 30 percent of your salary.  This does not include the cost of vacation time, holidays, sick leave and other benefits.  Employees earn 11 paid holidays per year.  Health insurance is free to employees who work 3/4 time or more.  Dependent coverage is $63.00 semi-monthly.  We also offer tuition reimbursment.
