For the second year in a row, we have been recognized by NJ BIZ as one of the “Best Places to Work in NJ.” Currently, our 531-bed facility has the following outstanding opportunities for a Registered Nurse in our Recovery Room.
Our RN position is a full time position, which requires a current, valid NJ RN license. Minimum 1 yr. med surg experience, critical care and/or PACU experience preferred. BLS, ACLS, PALS & IV certification required. Experience with vent management and hemodynamics required. Must have ability to take on call.
A strong candidate for this position must have the ability to assess and manage patients undergoing various surgical procedures and intervenes appropriately. Assists the patient through the wake up regimen. Appropriately utilizes the following equipment:ventilators, cardiac monitors, doppler, end tidal CO2 monitor, PCA pumps, and patient warming systems. The position also manages a patient who is respiratory unstable, a patient who may be hemodynamically unstable, assesses patient’s readiness for discharge from PACU according to established protocol. Manages and appropriately assesses a patient with vascular access device. Monitors and manages patients requiring pain management. Assesses the need to incorporate the parent in the care of the child recovering from anesthesia. Provides a protective environment in the pediatric setting. Employs safety measures to prevent patient injury in post-anesthesia phase. Assures safe storage of paralytic agents. Provides safe transport of Post Op patients to assigned nursing unit. Participates in an on call system for emergencies.
Shifts for this position include:
Monday through Friday, On-Call
3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Evenings/On Call weeknights/weekends/holidays
