REGISTERED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 

We have an immediate opening for a Full Time Registered  Occupational Therapist to provide consultation and services to the very special children and adults entrusted to our care.  Knowledge of Medicaid and Licensure regulations desired.  The right candidate will have a thorough knowledge of adaptive devices and therapeutic interventions for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.  This position provides immediate benefits including health, dental and vision. JOB DESCRIPTION

BASIC FUNCTION:According to established policies and procedures of the department, provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned clients, to help client reach maximum performance level and to use these skills to the fullest to function within the limits of their capabilities. Under general supervision, establishes own priorities and work plan to conform with departmental policies and procedures.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Administers and writes evaluations of assigned clients in accordance with Medicaid and licensure compliance and departmental standards and procedures. Maintains timely and accurate client records and reports. Provides consultation in areas such as environmental design, adaptive equipment, proper positioning of clients to prevent contractures and splinting. Designs and administers treatment programs to increase clients levels of functioning. Uses therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and finemotor coordination. Instructs clients in adapted techniques and use of adaptive equipment for dressing, feeding and other self-care skills. Administers sensor-motor integration treatment techniques. Uses activities to increase developmental levels of clients. Designs and/or fabricates slings and adaptive equipment to meet the needs of clients. Administers treatment programs. Provides prevention therapy to maintain functional skills. Teaches new employee orientation class in OT modalities. Provides 1:1 or group training as needed. Serves as team member in assessing and evaluating potential new admissions. May supervise occupational therapy assistant and students. Keeps abreast of research and new techniques. Attends appropriate professional and educational meetings. Performs various clerical tasks, such as taking inventory, answering the telephone, taking messages, and completing forms as necessary. Performs other related duties as required.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Graduate of accredited occupational therapy program with bachelor’s degree or equivalent.




SALARY
Based upon experience and degree level.


BENEFITSImmediate Health, Dental (Free) and vision insurance through the Cleveland Catholic Diocese.  Also are immediately enrolled into the pension plan and are vested after 5 years of service.  If you are currently enrolled in the pension plan we simply add to it!  After 90 days of employment you will recieve 2 personal days and 10 sick days.  Holiday pay begins after your 90 days as well. After 6 months of employment you recieve 10 vacation days.  We also have bonus days that can be earned with perfect attendance.
