POSITION:  Relief, Clinical – Elahan Place

 

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

 

REPORTS TO:  Elahan Place Program Manager

 

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:  None

 

PROGRAM:  Our mission at Elahan Place is to provide a therapeutic community to enhance recovery through rehabilitation. As a part of Columbia River Mental Health Services, we provide mental health treatment services to those with a primary mental illness in need of additional assistance or who are experiencing a mental health crisis.  Through a multi-disciplinary team approach, we encourage and enhance life skills, symptom management, medication management and monitoring, and social skill development.  We work in partnership with those who come in to care at Elahan Place, based on a client-driven, wellness and recovery model.  Our goal is to assist people in meeting their goals for treatment and recovery.

 

POSITION PURPOSE: Provide clinical services to residential consumers at our Elahan Place facility.  Relief positions may be regularly scheduled for fewer than 20 hours per week, or may work on an on-call as-needed basis.  Relief staff fill in for regular staff when absent, and/or assist with special projects or program needs. These are represented positions that are not eligible for benefits. 

 

I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB RESULTS

 

1.  Work directly with program staff to provide clinical services to consumers of agency services.

 

2.  Complete required paperwork for services provided.

 

3.  Establish and maintain appropriate and therapeutic relationships with consumers being served.

 

II.  ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

1.  Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.

 

2.  Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large.

 

3.  Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral or social sciences and experience working with the chronically mentally ill population.  AA degree plus experience considered.  People working towards their degree also considered.  Must maintain Washington State Registered Counselor credential. Current 1st Aid/CPR certification strongly desired.

 

 

IV.  CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

 

1.  Satisfactory findings on a criminal background search.

 

2.  Annual TB testing required.

 

3.  Maintain Washington State Counselor’s registration(some programs include CPR, First Aid, and food handler’s permit.)
