Nemours is dedicated to providing treatment and curative services to acutely and chronically ill children. Caring for more than 225,000 children each year during more than 870,000 patient visits, Nemours is one of the nation's largest pediatric subspecialty group practices. This is in addition to many ongoing research and education programs conducted at Nemours. Nemours owns and operates the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, as well as four major Children's specialty centers in Wilmington, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola. Research Associate/Post Doctoral Fellow in Orthopaedic Research The Bone and Cartilage Research Laboratory in the Center of Orthopedic Research and Development at the Nemours' Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a full-time Research Associate . Projects focus on chondrocyte and bone biology, tissue engineering, imaging and molecular aspects of extracellular matrix gene regulation in cartilage and bone. Research interests in stem cell tissue engineering paired with mechanical loading and experience in related biomechanical and molecular biology techniques is desirable. Position is suited for a candidate with an advanced degree (PhD, DVM or MD) interested in participating in a ongoing orthopaedic-related tissue engineering research program for 1-2 years. Opportunities exist for grant writing and independence.
