 Residential Manager and Rehabilitation Counselors

 

Become part of our dedicated team.  Horizon House, Inc. is a leading provider in the field of Human Services.  We have an immediate need for Residential Managers and Rehabilitation Counselors for our growing program serving adolescents with cognitive limitations, aggressive behaviors, and MH/MR challenges, in a residential setting.

 

Residential Managers will oversee and monitor the daily operations of a 24-hour staffed residential program and will supervise Rehabilitation Counselors. This individual will implement specific interventions in the home, school or community settings as outlined in the treatment plan.

 

Rehabilitation Counselors will provide one-on-one behavioral interventions, services at home, school, day care, or community settings. This includes rehabilitative activities for implementing prescribed treatment plans, crisis intervention, medication administration, and progress documentation. FT, PT and On-Call positions are available.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

ManagerB.A./B.S. degree in the social sciences, healthcare or related field required.At least 3-4 years experience working directly with this adolescent population, preferably in residential or other MH/MR services. 2-3 years supervisory experience.

 

Rehabilitation CounselorsBA/BS degree in the social sciences, healthcare or related field and at least 1-year experience working directly with this population; or an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits in social sciences, healthcare or related field and 3 years experience working directly with this population.Experience in residential or other MH/MR services preferred.

 

Both positions must have the ability to manage crisis situations, use appropriate therapeutic and behavior restraint strategies, and have very good communication and organizational skills. Child Abuse and Criminal History clearances and a valid driver’s license are also required.
