Residential Program Coordinator

PRIMARY WORK FUNCTIONSupervise 7-8 staff members in a Residential Home to facilitate effective and professional care for youth. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Provide direct supervision of Youth Counselors.· Complete employee evaluations and handle disciplinary actions in consultation with the Residential Director.· Attend staff meetings and conduct individual supervision.· Periodically provide training sessions for house team/youth counselors· Supervise operation of the home including, maintenance, family meetings and adherence to agency policies and procedures.· Prepare staff schedules and client appointments and visits.· Participate in treatment team and treatment planning.· If requested Casework includes calls to case workers and family members as well as attending ACR’s and court hearings.· Participate in on-call rotation/crisis intervention.· Responsible for the house budget.· Prepare reimbursements, budget data and reports. COMMENTARY: Contacts within The Youth Campus include the Program Coordinator(s), therapist, parents, case workers, youth counselors, behavior management specialists, nurse and administrative staff.  Outside contacts include various community-based resources and physicians. Program Coordinators can expect occupational exposure to blood and/or body fluids and potential exposure to hazardous material and infectious waste. JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation: A Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years relevant experience or 6 or more years of relevant experience in a residential program required.Experience: The applicant must have five or more years of relevant experience preferably in a residential program required. Prior supervisory experience preferred and excellent communication skills.Basic Skills: Minimum 2 years prior supervisory experience.Ability to organize and prioritize while remaining flexible and patient.Knowledge of behavioral disorders, stress management skills, and the ability to relate to a diverse population Good decision-making skills and the ability to apply knowledge gained and make sound decisions.Excellent communication and writing skills.Ability to organize and prioritize while remaining flexible and patient.Physical ability to participate in physical restraints of clients.Valid driver’s license and eligibility to transport wards.Ability to organize and prioritize while remaining flexible and patient and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet administrative deadlines. The PC must be able to make sound decisions, process information quickly and respond appropriately during crisis situations.Screenings: The applicant must have a valid driver’s license and proof of active auto insurance.  The applicant must submit to and pass a health screen, a drug screening.  The employee must maintain all clearances including driving, background and physicals. The employee must successfully complete and pass PRO ACT training and be able to demonstrate and implement all aspects of the PRO ACT philosophy and training in daily work.  The employee must have the physical ability to participate in physical restraints. The employee must be able to handle confidential information. InformationSensitivity: Confidential information includes any clients file information or other information observed or overheard.  All administrative information gathered or viewed while completing special assignments.  Breach of confidential information may result in termination.
