Respiratory Therapist

Ion Healthcare is committed to the diagnosis and treatment of the ever-growing segment of the population with Sleep Apnea, thereby reducing the billion-dollar risk that unmanaged apnea poses on our already stressed healthcare system.

At ION Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care in an office or hospital setting. Occasional on – call and off-site visits may be necessary, but are not a large part of the experience we offer.  You should be available to work varied shifts between the hours of 7a and 8p.

SUMMARY: Administers respiratory therapy care to patients with
diagnosed sleep apnea under supervision of  Physician and by prescription, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties
may be assigned:Implements Ion Healthcare's Mission Statement. Determines most suitable method of administering inhalants, precautions to be
observed, and modifications which may be needed that will be compatible with
Physician's orders. Sets up and operates devices such as SNAP and BI PAP testing, therapeutic gas
administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators. Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume,
gas concentration, humidity, and temperature

·  Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to
therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions. Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy
information. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is
functioning safely and efficiently. Orders repairs when needed. Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care
personnel. May have to communicate or interact with, assess, or treat Ion Healthcare's
customers that may be:
o Adults (18 - 64 years of age)
o Seniors (65 years or greater) Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); an A.A.S Degree or BS degree
from an accredited Respiratory Program. In not certified, may be considered if working
toward certification in good standing. RN licensed individuals may also be considered.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATH ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word
Processing and system software.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License. Certificate and Registry eligible, or RN license.
