SEASONAL PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER - PARKS

Ideal candidates must be reliable and willing to learn. Park Maintenance Workers maintain and perform repairs on structures, gates, fences, and field equipment including, but not limited to chainsaws, weed-trimmers, etc. Have the ability to operate and perform minor repairs to chainsaws, weed-trimmers, and other equipment as needed. May be required to operate heavy machinery such as tractors. Work independently with little or no supervision outdoors and in remote areas. Examples Of Duties: Fence repair, installation, and removal; sign design and construction; weed abatement; non-native species removal; trash dumping clean-up; equipment maintenance; building repair and maintenance; and various duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications: Knowledge of: Common tools, equipment, and materials used in landscaping and fence work. Experience operating a 4X4 vehicle in rough terrain. Experience: Two years of experience performing grounds or building maintenance and repair, or landscape gardening, or as a Park Attendant with the County of Riverside Parks Department; College level courses may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of experience.
