Description:

 

Partners with Apria business and manages IS personnel to deliver multiple priority projects, within budget and in accordance with the enterprise project portfolio and the company’s strategic plan. This includes personally managing projects, supervising staff who report to another project manager or managing technical project leads. Effectively leads and manages in a matrix project environment as part of a larger business and IS team projects slated to come together in the release of a software system.

The job description includes definition of release management / deployment / configuration management processes for software releases. The job entails meeting customer needs, bringing their needs together and releasing them in time with high quality such that overall release reflects the best choices for scope, costs and time for the company.

Requirements:

•  Oversee and manage systems integration, software application development, maintenance and support activities

•  Provide guidance and direction related to best practices for SDLC process definition and improvement

•  Responsible for project delivery, including quality, process and technology, meeting enterprise standards

•  Supervision/Staff development and administration, as required

•  Release Management related responsibilities:

Ø Work with clients, QA group and other IS groups to define and rollout user acceptance testing strategy, processes and procedures

Ø Define and rollout Release Management, Deployment Management and Configuration Management strategy, processes, and procedures

Ø Work with sponsors and business clients to define contents of software releases, plan, track and execute these releases

Ø Develop deployment plans, configuration management plans and oversee the execution of configuration management for software releases

Ø Manage client and/or user expectations for early scope negotiation, and user acceptance testing of software releases

Ø Status reporting, Issues tracking and risk management

Ø Work with peer IS groups, QA group and others to define, rollout and oversee configuration management and application promotion strategy, processes and procedures

Ø Facilitate user acceptance testing of a release

Ø Other aspects of release oversight

 

Skills / Experience:

 At least 5 years of IT project Management experienceExperience with software release managementKnowledge of ITILIBM AS400 / iSeries experience a plus5-7 years client-server, multi-tier solution deployment experienceStrong background in application development (not necessarily as a developer)
