SR NETWORK ENGINEER
- Bachelors degree is required GENERAL SUMMARY : The Sr. Network Engineer should demonstrate commitment to the vision, core purpose/mission and goals of LRMC, modeling the values and culture. The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible to the Manager, IT Networking. S/he works as an empowered member of a self-directed work team committed to common purpose and goals and holds self mutually accountable for team outcomes. Exhibits behaviors that meet cultural expectations of the organization. Shares, as scheduled, a 24-hour, 7-day week responsibility for all aspects of team functions. The Sr. Network Engineer assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates enterprise servers, their operating systems, and related software systems and applications. The Sr. Network Engineer has technical expert knowledge of enterprise server software and hardware, including developing enterprise wide standards for the maintenance, capacity planning, availability, continuity, security, and performance tuning necessary to support organization-wide Information Systems. The Sr. Network Engineer serves as a security advisor for server/systems related security processes. The Sr. Network Engineer implements the enterprise server/systems strategy and architecture including performance, capacity, availability, continuity, and security management. S/he implements the policies, procedures, and standards regarding server/systems performance, capacity, availability, continuity, and security. S/he is accountable for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of the LRMC enterprise servers/systems and associated resources. The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for functioning within scope of individual education, and competence. The Sr. Network Engineer must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer, and employee satisfaction. S/he may perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Preferred: o Knowledge of Project Management methodologies/standards such as PMI or PRINCE2 o Knowledge of Quality Management methodologies/standards such as Six Sigma, TQM, ISO9000, or Crosby Required: o Knowledge of local and wide area networking theory and technologies o Broad & in-depth knowledge of server technologies, operating systems, and security o Proficiency in the use of server/systems/applications monitoring systems & analysis systems or tools o In-depth knowledge of server operating systems - Windows, Unix, Linux, Novell o Knowledge of network protocols such as; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and SMTP o Knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery theory, design, and technologies o Knowledge of server/system/application availability theory, design, and technologies o Knowledge of database, application server, and middleware platforms, tools, and technologies o Knowledge of "off-the-shelf" business applications (i.e. MS Office Suite, MS Project, GroupWise) o Ability to operate relevant computer hardware and software o Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) EDUCATION: Preferred: o Bachelors degree with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering. Required: o Associate degree with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience EXPERIENCE: Preferred: o Previous management or project management experience o Experience utilizing a formal quality management methodology Required: o 5+ years hands-on experience with Network Engineering and or Systems Engineering o 5+ years hands-on experience in the design, installation, maintenance and management of enterprise server / systems infrastructure equipment (cabling, servers, operating systems, monitoring tools/systems) o Experience with designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise storage, archiving, and backup and recovery technologies o Experience designing, implementing, configuring and maintaining high availability enterprise systems (load balancing, clustering, etc.) o Experience with enterprise level patch management o Experience participating in Corporate Disaster Recovery Planning projects as either a vendor assisting a customer or as a technical lead in a corporate environment o 3+ years experience with MS Operating workstations and server systems (Windows 9x, NT, 2000) LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ OTHER: Preferred: o PMP, Six-Sigma, ITIL Required: o One or more of the following certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCIP, CCIE, SNRS, CVOICE, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, GIAC, GSEC, GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, GAWN, GCWN, GCFW, or other relevant certification #CB# Company: LAKELAND REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER Location: US-FL-Lakeland Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development
