SUMMARY:

 

Fast Growing Medical Device Manufacturing Operation in San Diego seeks Sales Support Specialist to join its team. The company is a Leader in the Medical Device industry and provides a progressive, friendly work environment with excellent opportunities for advancement. Year over Year revenue growth has exceeded 20% for 5 years running, and a talented sales support professional  is needed to support and add value to the sales organization.

 

JOB FUNCTION:

 

Under general supervision, the Sales Support Specialist is responsible for administering sales programs and activities within assigned region by following company sales/marketing plan in cooperation with the designated Regional Manager.  Candidate will be involved in heavy customer service duties and inside sales.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Place proactive outbound calls to assigned region to generate awareness of products and professional programs that results in sales.

 

2.  Assist Territorial Representatives to maintain relationships in remote areas or open territories, set appointments and prepare sales proposals and contracts. Develop strong relationships with customer base as the second tier of support for resolving customer challenges.

 

3.  Maintain Sales Logix notes on leads generated; fulfill administrative requirements of the Sales Service Contract and product initiatives.

 

4.  Maintain required contact with members of company’s Dental’s Professional Programs (Peer Practicum, Preferred Laboratory Network, etc.) as well as assisting to fill CE programs.

 

5.  Study and keep informed on new and existing products and programs.  Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all company sales policies and procedures. Develop strategies and tactics to use this information to the company’s advantage.  Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise and sales proficiency to meet the needs of customers.

 

6.  Process orders, returns and exchanges according to departmental guidelines.  Answer customer inquiries concerning price, availability, and technical application of company products. 

 

7.  Receive, track and expedite customer requests for product literature and clinical data from journal advertisements.

 

 

 





 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  Outstanding verbal communication skills, including pleasant phone voice and ability to diffuse angry or hostile customers.

 Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Access, Act or Sales Logix database. Proficient data entry skills.

 Highly motivated, proactive and able to multitask.

 Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology

Demonstrate leadership capabilities (e.g., demonstrates initiative, through knowledge of all departmental procedures, actively suggests recommendations for improvements, recognized by other department members). Be able to diffuse department issues by stepping back and evaluating the situation. Have the ability and knowledge to take challenges to proper source for resolution rather than becoming part of the problem. Use of good judgment

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

Equivalent Educational Level: Some College, Certificate Program or Associate degree preferred.  High School Diploma or GED required.

 

Job Training and Experience: Minimum of two years of customer service experience. Inside Sales experience desired or equivalent work experience.  Prior experience in the dental environment is helpful
