Senior Acquisition Specialist

The Senior Acquisitions Specialist will provide advanced professional advisory, technical, and administrative skills necessary to acquire supplies, equipment, and services required by the Institution in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Primarily responsible for performing various tasks related to the procurement cycle from procurement planning through order fulfillment for complex procurements including Institutional master supply/service agreements and licensing and leasing agreements.  This Specialist will assume leadership of the Buy Team of which they are a member and provide guidance and technical assistance for team members relative to procurement processes.

 

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and 5 years related experience, preferably in purchasing. CPM, CPPO, or CTPM certification must be obtained within 18 months of appointment.  Applicants should demonstrate good negotiation skills, the ability to read, interpret and apply legal theories and concepts to develop and negotiate purchase order/contract terms and conditions to minimize institutional risk, good technical writing skills and ability to write specifications, good organizational and project management skills, and good problem resolution skills.
