PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:Sr. Analyst, Data Warehouse oversees all data processing and deliverables within the Data Warehouse. The Sr. Analyst will perform the expanded role supporting all Business Units and their data analysis and reporting needs, and essentially evolve into the SME of Data warehouse. This role will also provide support for existing processes and activities and become essential to creating process efficiencies where possible. As the data warehouse works to enhance its processes, analysis and reporting capabilities for the Business Units, the Sr. Analyst, Data Warehouse will play a central role providing key insight for areas of improvement within the DW environment. MAIN INTERFACES:INTERNALLY: Sales Data Management team, Manager - Business Analysis & Forecasting, Sales Analytics & Reporting team, Commercial Operations team, Finance, IT - Siebel and Oracle Financials support team, IT - Data Management Tech, Supply Chain, Managed MarketsEXTERNALLY: Third party vendors such as Wolters Kluwer Health (WK) and IMS, wholesalers, pharmacies KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIESOversee Analyst, Data Warehouse, ensuring collection, input and delivery of internal and external demand and sales data is processed accurately and promptly; provide support to same as needed. Build new or improve existing procedures for validation of data prior to dissemination throughout the company. Function as SME of Sales Data Warehouse; knowledge will be vital in supporting data warehouse improvement or enhancement projects. Evaluate, analyze and process new Specialty Pharmacy data; work with new Pharmacy and appropriate internal personnel from contract initiation through to contract finalization. Assist in analysis of external data to identify data errors and inconsistencies; provide support in resolution of issues working with external data providers. Serve as Data Management liaison with Sr. Sales Analyst, Neurology and IMS; assist in processing and analyzing large data sets; provide support to Analyst as necessary in resolution of data issues. Serve as liaison between Metabolic Sales Analysts and WK Health; effectively communicate inquiries to WK and follow-up as necessary to elicit timely response. Ensure that standard operation procedures are followed, and documentation exists for all Data Management duties. Establish SOPs for any undocumented processes. Become highly proficient in all Data Management reporting tools including: Power Analyzer, Siebel Analytics, Cognos PowerPlay, Cognos Reportnet and Cognos Impromptu. Prepare content for Data Management presentations as appropriate. Perform standard and ad-hoc reporting using SQL. Assist business analysts and sales analysts in complex data querying and report development. Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and respond to data inquiries from the business units. Collaborate with the business units and/or the Commercial Planning and Ops team to develop user requirements related to unmet data and/or reporting needs: Develop implementation plans for enhancements including milestones and resources required Manage implementation including integration with IT, testing, user communication and training, as appropriate Work closely with Information Technology department to provide comprehensive data solutions that meet business user requirements.
EDUCATION LEVEL AND LANGUAGES REQUIREDBS in Business and Information Technology Database experience with Oracle and SQL highly preferred. Experience with standard reporting tools such as Cognos Reportnet, Cognos Impromptu or Business Objects required. English required. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (years experience minimally necessary for success in role)Minimum of 5+ years experience in data management. Biotech/pharmaceutical or high-tech industry experience preferred. Previous work for a global/multinational company a plus. PERSONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, abilities, traits)Excellent analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance several on-going projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills. Project management skills a plus. Adaptability with the ability to remain focused in the presence of shifting priorities and strategies in timely response to the business climate. Intermediate to advanced SQL skills preferred. Understanding of relational database structures and concepts Familiarity with building multi-dimensional cubes and/or prompt-driven reports Oracle database, MS Access and Excel are extremely helpful ADA REQUIREMENTS (i.e., normal office duties; must be able to push, lift, pull up to 30 pounds; etc.)Normal and routine office duties.
