Set on a beautiful 300-acre campus north of Wilmington, Delaware, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has 180 inpatient beds and offers all the major specialties of pediatric medicine, surgery and dentistry. The duPont Hospital is operated by Nemours, which provides institutions and services to improve the health of children. Employing over 400 pediatric physicians, subspecialists and surgeons, Nemours cared for approximately a quarter of a million children during nearly one million encounters in 2005, making Nemours one of the nation's largest children’s health systems. In addition to the hospital, Nemours operates the Nemours Children’s Clinic-Delaware Valley, which provides pediatric primary and specialty care at locations throughout Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey, and Nemours Children’s Clinics-Florida, which provide pediatric subspecialty care in Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola. The Audit Services Division of AIDHC has an opportunity for a Senior Auditor to assist in the development of an annual audit plan, conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with the annual audit plan and as requested. Reporting to the Manager of Audit Services, the Senior Auditor will lead special projects and oversee the work of other Audit personnel. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for: preparing written reports of findings, recommendations, and management’s responses for each audit to present to Executive Management and the Business and Ethics Committee of the Board of Directors; producing well organized work papers to accurately support conclusions presented in the audit reports prepared and to support audit work performed; completing audits in a timely fashion; performing follow-up audits or reviews to determine the implementation status of process enhancements and/or corrective actions; assisting in the presentation of interim and annual reports on the results of Audit Services activities for presentation to executive Management and the Business and Ethics Committee of the Board of Directors; researching authoritative literature for proper treatment of topics and presenting to Executive Management; providing training and assistance to other Audit staff as requested by Audit Manager; and, developing relationships with Executive Management and Governance that creates favorable reception for, and good understanding of, the Audit Service function while remaining independent and objective. This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related field, strong skills in audit techniques, as well as knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated analytical and organizational skills with experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with the ability to effectively interact and relate to personnel at all levels of the organization are imperative. This position necessitates an individual who is knowledgeable in hospital operations, services and personnel and who is able to share knowledge with other staff as required, to achieve departmental objectives.
