This position is responsible for the accurate accounting practices for the Sunrise insurance programs including reconciliation of insurance accounts; maintenance of insurance accruals and allocations; recording of insurance related payments including claims, preparation of journal entries and preparation of insurance reports, budgets and variance analysis. Responsibilities: Analyze and reconcile insurance related accounts Analyze and record insurance program accruals and insurance program allocations at an operating unit level Prepare journal entries for monthly posting Develop projections for insurance related costs for annual budgets and community acquisition and divestitures Prepare insurance program reports and variance analyses as directed Work collaboratively as a member of the Risk Management team within the Department, across other Sunrise departments, with Sunrise communities and with external advisors, consultants and auditors Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Accounting 3-5 years accounting experience; insurance accounting experience preferred Strong personal computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Excel Proficiency in PeopleSoft Financials Strong time management skills including the ability to simultaneously manage the completion of multiple initiatives Excellent communication skills Work collaboratively as part of a team Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change This position offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits.
