Work Schedule as follows:

Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed & Thu 10:00am-4:00pm, Sat 12:00pm-8:30pm

Week 2: Sun 12:00pm-8:30pm, Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri 10:00am-4:00pm

Every other holiday required



GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Manager, Admitting, and/or the Supervisors for Registration or Admitting, provides all administrative services related to the admission, registration, and/or pre-testing of patients of all ages.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

EMERGENCY REGISTRATION LEVEL:



1. Greet and interview incoming patients with their representatives and obtain patients' demographic and insurance information in compliance with medical and fiscal needs and current guidelines. Perform interview in perspective with the patient's convenience, i.e., at registration desk, at bedside, with a family member. Enter data obtained into the MediTech computer system. Maintain confidentiality of patient information, exercising sound judgement and sensitivity in dealing with patients and their families.



2. Present and review generic insurance and treatment consent forms to/with patients. Obtain all necessary signatures. Generate appropriate Hospital plates and bands (when applicable).



3. Up front collection policies: collect co-pays and/or deductibles from appropriate patient populations. Follow Hospital specific deposit guidelines and schedules, completing such guidelines on a regular and timely basis.



4. Present, review, and follow through on all applicable emergency and regulatory paperwork:

*dog bite forms *worker's compensation forms

*free care applications *MVA forms

*Champus *Missing insurance information request forms

*misc. ED forms



5. Preregister/activate recurring access patients, generating the appropriate paperwork as needed.



6. Responsible for the scheduling of the Registration staff in the Emergency Department.



KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:



1. High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.



2. Previous Patient Registration or related experience required. Meditech experience a plus. Excellent data entry, medical terminology, and insurance knowledge.
