Senior Reporting Analyst

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY Support the development and implementation of standard and ad hoc reports for program evaluation (both financial and/or clinical outcomes) through clinical data and claims analyses and related functional activities to support corporate goals.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyze and forecast future healthcare costs by market using knowledge of the managed care and/or disease management environments, provider contracting activity, medical management activity, business operation changes, and past experience.
* Develop and review trend experience by market to understand reasons for changes in medical costs and changes in medical cost relationships/clinical interventions.
* Develop and analyze productivity measures to support business operations.
* Maintain and perform analysis for corporate decision support.
* Assist in the development and evaluation for ad-hoc studies/initiatives.
* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of five years experience as a financial analyst, claims analyst, or reporting analyst in managed care, disease management, and/or other health care related environment.
* Bachelors degree or higher required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* Advanced analytical skills.
* Proven organizational skills.
* Previous HMO/Managed Care/Healthcare Industry experience.
* Advanced skills in SQL, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access or other relational database applications. Experience with Business Objects or Crystal Reports a plus.
* Proficient with Windows-based environment including Microsoft Office products.
