Senior Research Administrator - OSR

Joslin Diabetes Center is an internationally recognized diabetes treatment, research and education institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School and headquartered in Boston, MA. Joslin is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and improving the lives of people with diabetes through its cutting edge basic and clinical research, patient care programs for children and adults, and through programs and publications that improve the care of diabetes worldwide.

We are seeking a Senior Research Administrator to provide support to our Research Division for post-award management of sponsored research portfolios including oversight and management of financial policy, compliance and reporting issues that arise during the life of the award.

A sampling of your responsibilities in this role include the following; You will perform post-award administrative activities to ensure that all awards including subcontracts with collaborating institutions, and modifications to them, reflect the institutional interest and are compatible with institutional, sponsor and federal policies and procedures. You will monitor and approve all personnel, equipment, materials & supplies, and other grant expenditures to manage project spending within budget limitations and award submission of any required financial reporting or billings. You will manage grants receivables. You will communicate with sponsors, collaborators and others about the business aspects of sponsored projects on behalf of the investigators. Participate in implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with sponsor rules, regulations and generally accepted accounting procedures. You will interpret complex terms and conditions and apply understanding of federal regulations in order to perform quality control checks on new awards and modifications. You will work closely with Research Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in a related area is desirable.
3 years of related experience is desirable.
Strong mathematical skills.
Strong financial and management skills.
Must be able to interpret PHS and other grant sponsor policies, including OMB Circulars A-110, A-122, and A-133, and related grant management requirements.
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office software applications.
