Senior Research Assistant, Immunology

More than 300 scientists at Joslin are committed to pursuing innovative pathways of discovery to prevent, treat and cure type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their complications. Some of the most important historical discoveries and improvements in diabetes care worldwide were developed at Joslin.

Exciting opportunity to participate in novel studies at the interface of basic and translational research to investigate the role of autoimmunity in the development of  cardiac complications of diabetes. The successful candidate will assist in experiments that involve extensive use of cellular immunology techniques (e.g, multi-color flow cytometry, T cell proliferation and ELISPOT assays); basic molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR, TaqMan PCR assays and cloning; and in vivo studies using transgenic mouse models.  Studies will also involve analysis of samples from human patients. 

 

Required education experience and skills: BA/MS in biology. Previous small animal experience, careful attention to detail and high level of interest and motivation.  Must be able to work independently as well as part of a large, interdisciplinary team.2 years of hands-on experience in an immunology laboratory. Good organizational and computer skills.
