Server Engineer

  Responsible for the management and support of a 24X7 server infrastructure including back-up systems, server related problems (virtual/physical) and connectivity issues. Implements server disaster recovery strategies. Works in harmony with other Information System departments to resolve network/server related problems.  Maintains Microsoft Windows, Novell, Citrix, Linux and other technologies in a multi-site/vendor environment.   Education:BS in Computer Science preferred, or equivalent technical experience. Minimum of a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification or Microsoft Certified Professional required with a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification preferred.Experience:3 years in designing and supporting large LAN/WAN server environments. Experience in vendor supervision.Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication.  Strong follow-up and customer service skills.Physical Requirements:Visual acuity; manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and orally communicate.  Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.)Working Conditions:Normal office conditions. Experience with Active Directory, Citrix and VM Ware preferred.Must be willing to carry a pager and be available for 24x7 oncall support to include weekdays, evenings and weekends. Frequency of rotation will vary depending on need/size of department.
