Social Services - Family Therapist

Phoenix House, a non-profit organization, is the nation’s foremost provider of comprehensive, alcohol and substance abuse treatment for adults and adolescents. Since 1967, more than 100,000 drug-troubled individuals have received treatment at our adult residential centers, our adolescent Phoenix Academies, outpatient and day programs, and programs in prisons, drug courts, and homeless shelters.

Family Therapist needed to provide, coordinate and arrange for family therapy services for adult male's in  after-care/outpatient program. Coordinates services with the clinical treatment team.  
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides on going family and individual therapy services to clients and their families and continuing client assessment

Participates in patient intake and promotes client understanding of placement.

Consults with Case Managers/Primary Counselors to develop and oversee individual client treatment plans, including the communication and integration of recommendations from therapy sessions.

Documents sessions and all services/treatment provided to clients and/or family members; may monitors client charts to assure quality of documentation and that treatments plan are being adhered to.

Utilizes appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed by both residents and families.

 *Position includes working occasionally inside correctional facility



Requirements
 Master of Arts/Science degree in behavioral science, counseling, social work; and a registered intern number or licensure with the State BBS

A valid California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.

Must meet federal, state and local Criminal Clearance requirements.
