Responsible for Case Management support and advances the mission of the Virtua Health System through the practice of professional social work. Applies advanced psychosocial theory and methods to patients, families, and groups with appropriate regard for complexity of given problems. Graduate of an approved Social Services Program, minimum education of a Master's Degree in Social Work and 1 years experience as a Medical Social Worker. Current certification or licensure by the State of New Jersey. Demonstrates competence in providing basic social work services including psychosocial counseling with individuals and families. Ability to understand medical terminology and communicate effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds. Basic understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and managed care.
