Social Worker (MSW) part-time in Jefferson County

Our caregiver teams provide compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. The social worker is that member of the interdisciplinary team whose primary function is to provide diagnostic evaluations of the psychosocial problems of the patient/family unit, define social service goals for alleviating these problems, and help provide both the counseling and casework needed to meet these goals.  Ability to cope with the stress of repeated loss as well as give support to the rest of the team.Thorough knowledge of community resources or the desire/ability to obtain this knowledge.Knowledge of the dying process and bereavement.Knowledge and basic understanding of the psychosocial process operative in terminally ill patients and their families. Masters of Social Work is required from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.At least two years social service experience in a health care setting or social service agency.Experience as a social worker with the terminally ill and their families much desired.  This position covers the Jefferson County area.  Visit our web site to see how we have made a difference  www.vitas.com   EOE/AA/M/F/D/VDrug-Free Workplace
