Software Configuration Analyst

Affinity Health Plan, an independent, growing, not-for-profit managed care company designed specifically to serve the needs of low-income New Yorkers, needs a Software Configuration Analyst. This position is primarily responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the Facets system and other applicable software products to effectively administer the operational requirements of current and new business.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: mapping code sets, including annual updates of CPT, HCPC, DRG, and ICD-9 codes; Analysis, data entry, testing and documentation of configuration set up for all Facets subsystems; Translating business rules into effective and efficient configuration; Gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects and system requirements; Defining operational requirements and systems goals by meeting with decision makers and end users; Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization. As part of your responsibilities, you will:

 

§ Act in a liaison capacity between IS and other Affinity departments when developing new or revising existing methods and procedures to ensure effective solutions to user needs in the most effective, cost-efficient means of accomplishing work.

§ Plan, develop and implement the configuration of the Facets system and procedures by interacting with internal staff and outside systems vendors.

§ Complete the development of written instructional manuals and documentation; also conducts orientation and training sessions to facilitate use of Facets.

§ Validate the integrity of the data by ensuring the timely maintenance and updates of configuration, code sets, procedure and diagnosis codes which support the processing environment.

§ Prioritize objectives and tasks, sets intermediate target dates, tracks project completion and determines most effective methods to accomplish project goals.

§ Develop and implements operating standards and procedures to insure quality and integrity in data collection, input and reporting in Facets.

§ Facilitate effective inter-departmental communication so that the impact of procedural changes and system enhancements is fully understood and buy-in and cooperation are ensured.

§ Perform other duties as delegated, assigned or required.

 

 

Requirements for this position include:

 Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field or minimum of five years managed care experience which must include experience in an analytical, managerial or systems capacity.Organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills.Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.Intermediate level proficiency with Facets, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), knowledge of Microsoft Project and Visio. Amisys knowledge a plus.Understanding of the purpose, design, construction, maintenance, analysis and use of all databases required to operate a health care company.Demonstrated ability to perform analysis and identify solutions to resolve specific business issues.Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively.Resourcefulness required to define or refine procedures, ideas or techniques.Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.Demonstrated ability to function as part of a team.
