Software Development Manager
Leading Bay Area clinical diagnostics company seeks Software Development Manager to lead a small group and manage software development activities at multiple international sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage software development for multiple clinical diagnostic desktop and portable instruments. Most of the software is applications software on the Windows platform.
- Management will include developing and maintaining overall software development process for the division. Process includes requirements development, outside developer relationship management, and overall system testing.
- Position requires tactical management of development and approval of specifications, approving implementation and test plans, planning and executing system level testing on integrated systems, preparation and approval of all required documentation.
- Manager will manage multiple remote development groups for implementation and testing, as well as schedule, budget and reporting.
- Provide internal expertise for various software related issues including assessment of incorporation of potential external software into products and platforms, and use of automated development and tracking tools.
- Manage overall SW development system, including creation and maintenance of appropriate SOPs and work instructions, contract formats with external developers and compliance with corporate best practices.
Skills and Experience:
- BS in computer science or equivalent, or BS in a physical or biological science and significant experience (>10yrs) in software project management and software development.
- Experience in managing multiple software development projects in remote locations.
- Experience with software development for desktop biotech instrument systems and FDA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


- Familiarity with C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, VFP, WestWind, IIS, Windows Server Platforms.
