Software QA Lead

The Senior QA lead will be responsible for the verification and validation of application and code requirements (functionality, capacity and performance), application installations, code changes, and infrastructure changes within the application environment.

Duties include following test standards and methodologies; and participating in all levels of testing, and making decisions regarding testing approaches, timelines, and tasks. Will require ability to independently, set priorities, mentor other QA Analysts and support an offshore development effort.

Responsibilities
- Perform complex workflow analysis, devise quality improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
- Coordinate with Application Development and Support teams on all application defect and enhancement tickets to ensure proper escalation and follow up.
- Review Support Tickets to identify problem trends, recurring issues and ensure timely follow up of assigned tickets from appropriate teams.
- Perform testing of all application, code and infrastructure changes according to project and test plan timelines.
- Ensure application code related problems are communicated with development, prioritization and timelines are communicated, and fixes are validated within QA.
- Work with developers, Client Services, Business Analyst and other testers, obtaining necessary information to complete testing.
- Work with QA team offshore team and communicate and ensure that those projects are managed and completed on time.

- Create test procedures/cases and scenarios to validate scalability requirements.
- Run test procedures/cases using simulated production environments and data.
- Maintain flexibility to accept assignments as deemed necessary to meet Company, release or department goals.
- Manage time to optimize effectiveness.
- Participate in project planning sessions and meetings.
- Clearly communicate issues and barriers that inhibit job function.
- Learn products, processes, technology, and apply that knowledge in a productive method.
- Propose solutions to dilemmas and issues.
- Contribute new ideas to the QA processes and procedures.
- Interact w/ fellow QA Team, IT Team, Business Analysts, Development, Client Services Support Analysts, and management to ensure verification & validation on issues and avoid misinterpretations.

Experience
- 3-5+ years of industry related experience or software testing experience required.
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Must be familiar with SDLC methodologies, development tools, and application code testing methodologies in a Microsoft development environment.
- Must be familiar with industry proven testing application tools and utilities.
- Individual should be competent with MS office, email, and advanced PC skills.
