Sonographer/X-ray Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 

Reports directly to the Radiology Department Supervisor or Radiologist.  Produces ultrasonograms as requested by the referring physician.  Coordinates the processing of images.  Completes required documentation on clinical records and reports. Prepares statistical/special reports as requested by Radiologist and CMO. AlsoReports to CMO on statistics, etc. as requested. Ability to communicate with patients and staff. Sensitive to the needs of patients. Ability to conduct herself/himself in an ethical and professional manner at all times.  Other duties as assigned.

 



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Diploma in Medical Ultrasongraphy or equivalent; registered member of ARMDS, CSDMS, and CARDUP; must carry liability insurance with the Canadian Association; related experience in diagnostic ultrasonography; Demonstrated interest in maintaining professional development i.e. taking additional courses, participation on professional committees, adherence to professional code of ethics, etc.  Bilingual a plus.
