Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist

Provides analysis of reimbursement, manages special A/R projects, and provides assistant with budget monitoring and maintenance. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Handle special A/R projects and identifies trends and opportunities for improvement. 2. Reviews reimbursement information to ensure payment to contract. 3. Prepares payer fee schedules for uploading into IDX. 4. Reviews CPT and ICD-9 codes for additions, deletions, and modification in IDX. 5. Assists with pricing new procedures and services. Communicates and coordinates with Systems to update IDX. 6. Assists with department reimbursement review process. 7. Prepare and process personnel paperwork for new hires, terminations, and all other changes. 8. Monitor and reconcile expenses to budget. 9. Maintain personnel files and updates appropriately. 10. Assists with annual budget process. 11. Assists with developing and modifying processes for the business office to enhance effectiveness. Responsible for maintaining procedures manual and distributing updates to staff. 12. Tracks and reports staff productivity on a weekly basis. 13. Acts as liaison with contracted vendors for collection accounts. 14. Maintain monthly business office reports. 15. Assists with developing business office training program. Education: HS degree is required. A degree in accounting, business administration or other related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience in patient accounting is desirable. ExperiencE: Five years experience in healthcare environment, preferably large mutli-specialty or academic practice. Knowledgeable in physician reimbursement, managed care claim and payment issues, and budgetary process. Knowledge with billing and financial operation issues. Experienced in IDX billing system, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access). Must also be familiar with accessing information using the internet. Requires excellent communication skills and ability to impart information to various levels of management and staff in a multi-disciplinary environment.
