Location: Durham, North Carolina.The Senior Data Integration Engineer will design, develop, test and support ETL applications using Informatica Power Center, Ascential DataStage TX and Oracle 10G. This individual will develop bulk load, stored procedures and triggers using both DBMS native code and commercial ETL tools. Senior Data Integration Engineers will be expected to be able to estimate application development tasks and to mentor less experience developers. Responsibilities: Coding of application components using Java/J2EE, .NET (VisualBasic or C#), C, WebSphere Portal, Cognos and Microstrategy Adhere to product engineering methodology working collaboratively with product teams (application development, data integration, quality assurance, configuration management, product management) to bring information products to market. Documents coding and design activities necessary for the proper installation, maintenance and operation of the software. Participate in application design and estimation activities. Mentor less experienced software engineers and associate software engineers. Responsible for the development, production implementation, and ongoing support of information applications.Requirements: Solid communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) and strong interpersonal skills required. Extensive software development experience in a relational database environment is required. 5+ years of experience in commercial software development including testing, deployment and product support. Must have a high ability to learn new things, especially about new technology developments. Ability to mentor less experience application engineers Ability to accurately estimate application development tasks Demonstrated technical knowledge of software development methodologies, design and implementation, particularly the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Excellent analytical and software design skills. Experience with the object oriented web development using J2EE and portal technologies Experience with advanced software design methodologies: RUP, UML, OOA/D Experience with advanced data sharing, data transformation and parsing techniques using XML/XSL is highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of web client-side technologies (HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, CSS) Familiarity with relational databases, particularly Oracle. More advanced database concepts, stored procedures, triggers and transactions are desired. Healthcare experience desirable.
