Sr. Health Care Systems Analyst/Sr. Business Systems Analyst
We currently have an opportunity for a Sr. Health Care Systems Analyst. This individual will be providing consultation to pharmacy management regarding solutions to business problems either in the form of streamlining business processes, development and/or modification of appropriate applications or data quality management. The Sr. Health Care Systems Analyst will be responsible for project management of Pharmacy Systems Support’s development and production efforts. This includes defining requirements, overseeing the design, development and implementation of various Pharmacy based information systems. Leads business analysis initiatives, where an understanding of how Pharmacy data impacts business processes and decisions, is imperative. This will include utilizing state of the art software tolls to support the analysis efforts.
Plans, organizes and directs the activities for on-going enhancement and maintenance of the various Pharmacy systems and databases to support the information requirements of the Pharmacy business area. Works with IS programmers, team leaders and management to design and implement systems to support various Pharmacy business requirements. Provides technical assistance and consulting services to the Pharmacy department relating to Pharmacy information needs.
ResponsibilitiesDevelops project strategy and supporting plan for cross division and multiple department initiatives. Responds to business related questions/problems where Pharmacy data is a factor. Leads the process of defining business requirements, evaluates systems solutions and application proposals. Identifies Pharmacy application needs, documents key business rules and oversees the usability of Pharmacy applications. Develops cost benefit analysis on each project and proposes solution alternatives for any request. Anticipates and prepares for system problems not initially evident to the business users requests and proactively develops plans to address these issues. Identifies resources needed to execute the initiatives and system requirements and leads more junior BSA and SBA on executing the plan. Creates and identifies diagrams that represent the flow, the process and the transformation of data within various systems. These systems can either be within Caremark or across the IBCFOC (Claims, Enrollment or Member Services) essentially, any system that interfaces with Pharmacy systems. Consults with various Pharmacy functional areas as well as Pharmacy management for the purpose of identifying systems business requirements and for resolving business problems. Identifies all systems affected by each project plan and accurately identifies system limitations and capacity. Integrates understanding of Pharmacy needs and requirements into the various department needs and requirements and translates both into specifications for IS programming interpretation. Responsible for new and existing applications’ user acceptance testing to include development of User Acceptance test plans, supporting test scenarios and their execution. Conducts periodic reviews and quality checks to ensure systems specifications meet end-user needs.
QualificationsBachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Pharmacy experience required Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred, but not required. 5 years of proven work experience in business unit necessary or equivalent external work experience. Previous systems project management experience including the use of project management software. Strong understanding of Pharmacy operations required. Demonstrated knowledge of cross divisional work processes and systems as well as the ability to bring these complex projects to a successful conclusion. Demonstrated leadership skills. Demonstrated effective strong oral and written communications skills to include the ability to influence and negotiate. The ability to work autonomously and make decisions with little direction. Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented as well as above average problem solving skills.
