Sr. IT Project Manager
The Sr. IT Project Manager position is responsible for managing the Medication Safety Systems (Guardrails) implementation and evaluation projects at customer sites through the development of timelines and facilitation and scheduling of internal and external resources. Manages multiple Medication Safety Systems projects through project life cycle, including pre-sale activity, coordination of multidisciplinary team for product implementation, and post implementation customer satisfaction follow-up Focus is on productivity in implementation and customer satisfaction. Serves as the primary point of contact for customers implementing ALARIS® Medication Safety Systems, and supports sales consultant as project point of contact in ALARIS® Medication Safety Systems evaluations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitates the Medication Safety System Implementations utilizing established project planning process and RACI models adhering to timelines.
Coordinates and drives execution plans of highly skilled and professional matrixed multidisciplinary teams that are internal and external to the organization to ensure a timely and seamless transition for our customers. Teams members to include, but not limited to, Pharmacy Consulting, Clinical Consulting, Technical Support, and Sales.
Coordinates communication flow throughout team and customer. Manages timelines, costs, resources and reports status and progress to project plan to management through reports.
Identifies, develops and updates project management tools as well as project management process / RACI tools through lessons learned.
Identifies resources requirements and schedules resources as applicable to ensure effective usage of resources and achieve timely and efficient implementations.
Identifies potential project delays and develops action plans for at risk points in the process and implements strategies.
Coordinates and attends account site activities including pre sale project planning sessions, kick-off meetings and post-implementation meetings.
Coordinates, communicates and facilitates activities related to project management at account site with pharmacy consultants, IT consultants, technical support and sales.
Works with clinical consultants to establish/schedule clinical consultant support for training and go-live activities.
Develops, along with clinical management, comprehensive project management services plans including CQI activities post-implementation.
Maintains a close working relationship with sales and the sales management team.
Assists marketing product managers with marketplace surveillance, customer needs and future product ideas.
Manages and makes sure Customer Satisfaction measurements & process occurs (CCSP).
Provides and/or coordinates on-site visits for customers during problematic situations to trouble shoot and reports to internal customer advocacy team outcomes/results/needs
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a scientific discipline.
Minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
IT Project Management in a hospital or clinical environment required.
Process Improvement methodology knowledge preferable (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean Thinking, CQI).
Demonstrated project and team management experience in field setting.
Must have strong communications and project management abilities.
Excellent computer and technology skills.
Able to manage and thrive in a matrix environment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and must be able to interface at all levels of the organization within and outside of the Company.
50% travel is required. Cardinal Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including 401K and tuition reimbursement.
