Sr. Object Oriented Programmer/Analyst

Blackstone Technology Group, a full service staffing and consulting company established in 1998, is currently conducting a search on behalf of our client for an Sr. Object Oriented Programmer/Analyst.

 

This is a full time direct hire opportunity with one of Aurora’s premier employers.

 

Because this is a full time position, candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, and we are unable to work with 3rd part companies on this position.

The position is within the Clinical Application Services department in IT, and reports to the Production / Integration Manager.  The focus for the position is supporting extracts, data imports/exports, and other programming tasks for our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system from Epic. 

 

Key responsibilities of the job include:

ü  Coordinates and participate in aspects of systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of the infrastructure components of the EMR.

ü  Participates in planning related to future direction of the infrastructure components of the EMR. 

ü  Coordinates and participates in efforts towards maintaining the infrastructure components of the EMR, including revisions, testing, and integration of changes.

ü  Collaborates with other informaticists, business users and departments, as well as outside vendors (EPIC), in the planning, development, testing, revision, and maintenance of specific departmental components within the EMR. 

ü  Represents business areas in process redesign and Epic system implementations, serving as a liaison between business departments and the CAS Department. 

ü  Reviews new infrastructure / departmental application enhancements/features, and prioritizes their implementation.

ü  Primary focus is departmental applications and infrastructure, but a baseline knowledge of ambulatory and inpatient applications for the EMR is required.

ü  Follows all Information Technology ITIL/HA processes to ensure effective communication across all areas and support maximum system up time

 

Required skills:

ü  Must have expertise in 2 object oriented programming languages is required

ü  Must be familiar with imports/exprts within any database

ü  Data extraction and data analysis required

ü  Any knowledge or familiarity with Epic systems is required

ü  This position requires about 50% programming in Epic design and builds, Epic programming-imports, exports, extracting data from reports

ü  Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field, Informatics,  or equivalent experience. 

ü  Minimum three year’s experience with clinical information systems focused on infrastructure and departmental components of these systems, analysis

ü  Demonstrated skills in providing in-depth technical and analytical experience in the system analysis, planning, design, build, testing and support of infrastructure and departmental system components

ü  Demonstrated ability to understand user workflows, and accurately identify key user needs

ü  Demonstrated ability to work with users to accurately assess and diagnose production problems.

ü  Demonstrated ability to proactively troubleshoot and document problem resolution.

ü  Self motivated, take on tasks/projects willingly, contribute new ideas constructively.

ü  Strong oral and written communication skills, able to produce concise documentation relating key system attributes. 

ü  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks in parallel, and meet deadlines.

 

Desired skills:

ü  Epic Certification in Chronicles is a significant plus.  If an applicant meets the other qualifications, but is not Epic certified – appropriate training will be provided.
