Responsibilities Serves as psychiatric social worker for assigned caseload of patients and their families. Provides clinical social work services on an acute inpatient psychiatric unit specializing in the treatment of patients with psychotic disorders. Provide psychiatric and psychosocial assessments, brief individual therapy and crisis intervention, psychoeducation, family and group intervention, patient advocacy, and discharge planning. M.S.W. degree from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. New York State License or scheduled licensing exam within six months of hire. Fieldwork or previous experience psychiatric setting required. Previous experience with SPMI patients preferred.
