The Montgomery County Home Instead Senior Care franchise is celebrating 10 years of success in serving the senior community in Montgomery County (Maryland) and Northwest Washington.  Companion aides provide companionship, meal preparation, laundry/light housekeeping, medication reminders, and incidental transportation to seniors in their own homes.  We help seniors remain at home…hence, our name HOME INSTEAD Senior Care!

 

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience working in a staffing position in a healthcare, social service, or customer service environment.  This feel-good job—somewhat like a social worker without the MSW credentials—has the following responsibilities:

 

    ●   Places companion aides on client assignments and provides ongoing management

    ● Acts as liaison between companion aides and client and/or family 

  ● Solves complex employee or client concerns or issues using creative approaches

  ● Ensures schedules and conversations with companion aides, clients, and families are

 documented

  ● Oversees day-to-day operations of Staffing Department (managing in-house staffing coordinator and on-call supervisors)

  ● Attends occasional offsite events such as in-services, marketing events, client home visits

 

Environment/Perks:

 

Typically, the job is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm (one-hour lunch).  The work atmosphere is enthusiastic and fast-paced with an emphasis on teamwork and putting the client first.  Our benefits package includes health, dental, and vision coverage; vacation; and a Simple IRA.  We are located in Silver Spring, Maryland, close to the 495 beltway (a 5-minute drive to Forest Glen metro).
