Stress Technician

We are currently seeking a Stress Technician to join our team! POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a site physician, performs various professional and administrative duties related to nuclear medicine stress testing including but not limited to: patient preparation, administration of exercise and pharmacological stress tests, and application of ACLS measures to patients when needed. Specifically, you will be responsible for preparation of patient for imaging and stress testing procedures including patient interviews, patient consent and signatures, and conducting patient teaching related to nuclear imaging procedure.  Establish Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access; set up and monitor patient through 12 lead EKG stress testing. Responsible for administering intravenous medications for pharmacological stress testing. Responsible for driving the van and moving the equipment between testing locations; Follow Radiation Safety and Department of Transportation regulations for purpose of transporting equipment, medical supplies, radioactive material and staff to customer site. Experience and Skills:   REQUIREMENTS:  Requires a minimum of three years experience in an emergency care setting with experience responding to emergency cardiac and pulmonary events. ACLS and CPR (American Heart Association) is required. Must have previous experience monitoring and interpreting 12 lead EKG stress testing and administering IV medications.  Required to obtain accreditation as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International within a specified period of time. Digirad will coordinate and pay for this certification. Non-commercial Drivers License is required; license must not be suspended, restricted or revoked. Ability to lift up to 60lbs and assist with pushing and pulling medical equipment up to 800lbs.
