Stroke Coordinator - RN
Eden Medical Center is a 387-bed, not-for-profit medical center with approximately 2000 employees at our two campuses. The Eden Campus in scenic Castro Valley includes Eden Medical Center, Laurel Grove Acute Rehabilitation Hospital and Baywood Court Skilled Nursing Facility. The San Leandro campus includes San Leandro Hospital. Eden is home to the regional Level II Trauma Center for Southern Alameda County, the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center, adult psychiatry, a wide range of rehabilitation services, a complete Birthing Center, Community Cancer Center, advanced imaging services and complete surgical and acute-care services.Through our affiliation with Sutter Health, Eden Medical Center is part of a large network of not-for-profit hospitals and care centers in Northern California and is linked to nearly 30 acute care hospitals and 4,000 physicians throughout the region. Together, we’re working to improve the health of our communities. In June of 2005, Eden Medical Center, located in Northern California, opened the doors of the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center, a $12.5 million-dollar project, sponsored by Sutter Health. Quickly identified as a center of excellence in Neurological care in the San Francisco Bay Area, we began serving patients in our 20-bed unit (6 ICU beds, 14 Med/Surg beds) and were successfully joined with a highly respected team of Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Hospitalists, Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Neuro-Interventional Radiologist. Our patients have been able to make use of a full continuum of care, from our Level II trauma center through our Acute Rehabilitation Center located adjacent to the hospital. In our last quarterly Press-Ganey survey, we scored in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction. In Fall of 2007, we brought on board a Spine Program Coordinator to create and lead a successful Spine Program. We are ready now to move to the next step. Our goal is to develop a JCAHO-accredited Stroke Program to provide the highest level of stroke and rehabilitative care for our patients, and to continue to strengthen our reputation in the community as a Neurological center of excellence. We have recently recruited a Neuro-intensivist to serve as our Stroke Program Medical Director. Now, all we need is a talented, caring individual to develop and lead the program. We are looking for an energetic individual to “own” the development of our new Stroke Program. This quality-focused RN will be highly supported in the role and will have the advantage of a collaborative team approach, working closely with Administration, the physicians and clinical staff in creating the program. The ideal candidate for this position will have an RN license and a Master’s Degree (MBA, MSN, MHA, etc.). Critical care experience is required, and Neurology experience is strongly preferred. Prior leadership experience in a Stroke Center is preferred as well. In short, we are looking for a champion to join in on the excitement of this upcoming program.
