Supervisor, Medical Engineering

RIH is the state's largest general acute care hospital, the region's Level-1 trauma center, and the largest teaching hospital for The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Engineering, the Supervisor, Medical Engineering works independently to supervise the day-to-day operations of the work group, assuring that schedules are adhered to and repairs and maintenance on all electrical/mechanical and electronics medical devices are done on time.  Possesses highly skilled technical knowledge on equipment application and troubleshooting.  Specializes in “high-end” equipment training, such as ultrasound imaging systems, respiratory ventilators, anesthesia machines, patient monitoring systems, and other equipment specialties.Supervisors day to day operation of Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMET'S).  Assists BMET's with troubleshooting.  Ensures that the department maintenance objectives are met.  Monitors BMET productivity and QA.When applying, please refer to requisition number 07-3562. REQUIREMENTS:Associate’s Degree or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.   Microsoft Windows and Office applications.  Good understanding of any Maintenance Management software package and basic database concept.   Ability to present data analysis reports in a spreadsheet or word processor format.   Highly skilled technical knowledge on application and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, electronics, and microprocessor and computer based medical equipment.  Manual dexterity to inspect and repair equipment and devices, requiring use of small hand tools and testing equipment. EXPERIENCE:Three to 5 years of experience in all aspects of biomedical equipment maintenance functions.  Three years of supervisory and service contract coordination experience.A.A. degreee in a technical field and 3 years of supervisory or leadship role in a health care environment preferred.  Extensive medical equipment training and hands-on experience on maintenance, installation, testing and configuration preferred. For fastest consideration, please use the "Apply Now" button and refer to requisition number 07-3562 on the Lifespan Careers website. Rhode Island Hospital is an EEO/AA employer, and encourages applications from minorities and women.Dedicated to the people we hire and the community we serve.
