The Operating Room consists of four suites dedicated to a wide array of surgical interventions. Specialties include Orthopedics, ENT, Gynecology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Plastics. The OR offers eight-hour shifts and some 12-hour shifts plus call. The OR averages 12-14 cases a day. This facility does not handle open heart, brain or spinal cases.The Endoscopy Lab has two rooms dedicated to providing procedural services.Position Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Supervisor Nursing Unit (SNU), in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, coordinates and supervises the planning and implementation of nursing care and the intra-departmental activities of the unit.  The SNU is responsible for an awareness of patient conditions and problems, and for maintaining an acceptable level of nursing care on the unit.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing and a Bachelors degree. Minimum of 2 years experience as an RN. Experience as a Relief Charge Nurse or supervisory experience in Surgical Services.Preferred: BSN.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Required: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Current AHA BLS Course C or D provider.
