At SynerMed we do the things that make managed care work by providing management services for our IPA/Medical Group and Hospital clients under the HMO model for all major health plans. Job Duties: This position is responsible for making sure IPA and other managed care provider reimbursement contracts are correctly coded in the EZ-Cap managed care software to ensure accurate healthcare claims payment. This entails gaining a thorough understanding of all relevant EZ-Cap tables and modules (e.g., provider fee schedules), SynerMed’s actual provider/IPA contracts, Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement methodologies, etc., and applying that knowledge by implementing and continuously improving the system setup. The position will serve as liaison between the EDI and Claims/Provider Services Departments. The Systems Analyst will eventually learn all aspects of the EZ-Cap system and help implement data quality improvement initiatives across the board. The System Analyst will also lend support to ancillary applications that run off of EZ-Cap (e.g., web portal, intranet, claims/authorizations workflow interfaces, and more).
Requirements: Minimum of two years experience in an HMO/managed care or related setting, prefer experience with healthcare provider contracts and reimbursement methodologies;Bachelor’s degree in I.T., business/health care management or related field is preferred.Experience as I.T. consultant or analyst in related field also preferred. Rapid data entry, data manipulation and analysis using large databases, database/management reporting, problem solving and project management skills are essential;Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills;Rapid learning, critical thinking/analytical skills;Intermediate to advanced knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, etc.;Must possess the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, oversee ongoing production tasks and recommend/implement process improvement ideas under leadership of the EDI and Data Quality Manager;Reliability and attendance is critical as is the ability to work overtime when approved.
