Superior vendor management and customer service skills are a necessity in this position, as your success and that of HSNW hinges upon the complex daily interactions with these external clients.

Who we are!
HealthServicesNW provides patient financial services to health care facilities in Washington. Jointly owned by Providence Health System and Swedish Health Services, it provides business office support to Providence and Swedish hospitals and long-term care facilities in Washington. That support includes hospital and patient billing, customer service, insurance claims collection and account maintenance.

As a Systems Director you must have a thorough understanding of the Revenue Cycle process and of the systems technology to direct the design, testing and implementation of improvements for computer based systems in support of Billing, Account Maintenance, Customer Service and Claims collection departments. This position requires both the technical background to diagnose and overcome system issues, and the ability to "problem-solve" business inefficiencies and recommend technically sound solutions.

Required Skills:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience is required.

Experience: Minimum five years of IT experience with emphasis on Project management, business system and interface implementation, maintenance and support. Patient Accounting, Financial and analytical skills are strongly desired. Previous Director level experience in a multi-facility acute healthcare environment is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, Relational databases and communication protocols. Familiarity with the following or other similar databases is very desirable: IDX Phamis, McKesson HBOC Star, SMS Unity, SMS Allegra, and Columbia Ultimate Systems. Comprehensive understanding of the interaction/integration/effect on interfaced systems and a thorough understanding of impact to/from external systems.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in relaying technical information to non-technical advisors and comprehensive knowledge of accounting and technology.
