Technical Support Analyst II

Job Description: This position will work closely with the IT Office Help Desk, Client Support, Sales staff, LIS staff, Maine Medical Center IT staff and users to support the computer needs of all NorDx internal and external clients. The preferred candidate will be responsible for new installations, maintaining and troubleshooting computers, printers and various components. Evaluate current system issues, identify opportunitites to improve services and actively ensure all PC-based systems are maintained at optimum levels. Gathers and analyzes business users' needs and develops process and application design changes for IT solutions. Makes recommendations for the efficient use and deployment of new technologies for NorDx. Hours: Full-Time, DaysSalary Type: SalariedLocation: Scarborough CampusJob Requirements: Responsible for installation of printers, terminals, fax machines, software and modems at client sites. Train clients on the use of this equipment as well as ongoing training as changes and enhancements occur. Responsiblel for equipment maintenance to include DocStar, printers, modems, PC's and terminals. Perform periodic, scheduled and ad hoc account maintenance visits to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with the terms of existing agreements. Serve as liasion between clients and the laboratory and ensure timely, complete follow-up of client concerns and problems. Inform all NorDx departments of new account requirements or changes. To perform this job successfully, the preferred candidates must demonstrate a strong attention to detail as well as have the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. The peferred candidate gives and welcomes feedbak and contributes to building a positive team spirit. While performing the duties of this job, teh employee is regularly in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise and temperature variations. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (while driving and going to and from vehicle). A current, valid Class III Maine driver's license is required. Education Requirements: Completion of two years of college or technical school in Information Technology/Systems or a related program, or equivalent experience with a minimum to two years experience involving installation, maintenance and troubleshooting work with computer and network hardware and software. Experience in a clinical laboratory or other healthcare setting preferred.
