Job Description



 

Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) provides one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent across all environments i.e., home, day care, school, and community; the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment.

 

Job Duties

 

Supervise therapeutic activities, crisis intervention techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, time structuring, time out strategies, and additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan.Implement specific intervention tailored to stabilize children in given environment. Provide one-on-one intensive therapeutic interventions.Provide all written document supporting progress of plan and its implement.Collaborate with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working with the family and child.Offer support for the family’s effort to stabilize the child and to promote age- appropriate behavior by working with the family in the child’s presence.





Job Requirements

 

Bachelor’s degree in a social service field or any bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in a child service agency

Or

An Associates Degree or 60 credits toward a Bachelor’s degree with either; one year work experience as a TSS aide or three years paid experience in child services system

Or

Licensed registered Nurse with one year of experience in a child service agency or licensed practical Nurse with three years of experience in a child service agency.

 

 

 Condition of Employment

 

Must have a valid driver’s license;

Must be able to provide own transportation

Must be able to work flexible schedules including evening and weekends

Must pass criminal background and child abuse clearances

 

 

 Desirable Experience

 

Work with children with Mental Health and/or Autism
