JOB DESCRIPTION
The Training & Development Specialist develops, designs, implements, monitors and evaluates professional training efforts in areas of core skills and competencies across the organization, undertaken to increase job performance at all employee levels. The Specialist assesses training needs, engages in instructional design, delivers programs of instruction, and participates actively in training and educational program evaluation. The Specialist is accountable for the implementation of the organization's career management and succession planning initiatives. The Specialist also serves as a facilitator and training consultant to the organization and stakeholders using team skills, project management skills, needs assessment, and other information obtained from various tools and sources to enhance and develop job effectiveness and performance. The Specialist is responsible for the management of all electronic based learning and training media and for the creation and implementation of blended learning solutions for organizational training needs. The Specialist assists in the preparation of the annual training operations budget.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources Development, or Applied Psychology.
Preferred:
Master's Degree is strongly preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Supervisory skills training program such as Achieve Global, Zenger MIller, DDI, etc.
Preferred:
Myers Briggs or other skill/style assessment approaches
Project Management
Facilitation
Training design and delivery
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
6 or more years hands-on experience in the design and delivery of training, surveying and data interpretation, report writing, and presentation.
Experience working with consultants and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated experience with supervisory and/or management training.
Experience with Career Development Programs
FOREIGN LANGUAGES:
Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred.
