Trauma Coordinator Manages and maintains overall responsibility for the daily administrative operations of the Trauma Service.

Key Responsibilities:


—- Supervises and manages data collection for the hospital trauma registry.

—- Manages the collection/distribution of data on injured hospitalized adults and pediatric patients according to protocols established.  Assists in trauma research.

—- Manages Total Quality Management Program of Trauma Service and is responsible for developing pre-hospital QA and referring hospital QA evaluation programs.

—- Follows up on data on all trauma patients and manages the collection of pre-hospital reports and discharge data.

—- Develops and directs Public Relation Programs for Trauma Service and manages prevention programs to reduce accidental death and disability.

—- Directs the Outreach Program for referring hospitals and EMS agencies.  Represents the PRMH Trauma service at the state and national meetings.

—-  Implements, evaluates, and manages hospital departments for compliance with state trauma regulations/requirements for Level 1 designation.

Requirements:



Education: BSN

Experience: At least 5 years of related Nursing experience.  Trauma, critical care recommended.

Number and Type of Employees Supervised (optional): 1-5

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Nursing Certificate, State License, TNCC, ACLA

Special Training: Must be able to move about freely and be able to move and lift patients.  Must be able to hear and orally communicate.  Visual acuity and manual dexterity required.  Must be able to problem solve and be able to work in a team situation.
