Eveleth Behavioral Community Program

 

This position exists to provide clinical and administrative supervision to the Eveleth Behavioral Health Community Program (EBHCP) staff, assuring that client interventions reflect the expressed goals of clients and accurate assessment of client strengths and needs. The incumbent will oversee the program design, admissions, discharges, utilization management, clinical policies and procedures. 

 

Incumbent develops and disseminates assessment and treatment tools including: functional assessment, treatment planning and intervention strategies.  This individual assesses clinical training needs for all community unit staff.  As Program Manager for the program will be involved in reviewing referrals, and provides on-call services for program.

 

Qualifications:  Minimum of two years of professional administrative and/or supervisory experience in a residential facility supervising professional treatment staff who provide direct services (counseling, rehabilitation, or patient care) to a primary clientele of developmentally disabled, mentally ill, chemically dependent, geriatric, and/or physically handicapped individuals.  A Master's degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, one of the rehabilitation therapies, or closely related may substitute for six months of the above experience requirement.  You must possess the skills/ training requirements specified in MS 245.462, subd. 17 for Mental Health Professional.  This designation is required in order for the program to be reimbursed  for the position at rates established for staff within an Intensive Residential Rule 36 program.  Substantial knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and person-centered thinking and multi-modal approaches to serve clinically complex individuals and their support networks. Knowledge and experience in supervising de-centralized supports.  Ability to observe the needs of clients and community supports, and provide advice and recommendations for the further development of  the residential program services;  take a detailed-oriented approach to work, and to analyze data are important skills for this position;  participate in debate and constructive criticism. Functional computer skills in the area of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentation software, and valid driver’s license; maintain staff commitment in a change-oriented service, and clarify roles and responsibilities in a shared services model.  Effective written and language skills.  Extensive knowledge of the care and treatment of Serious and Persistent Mental Illness.  Knowledge of evidence based practices:  Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Illness Management and Recovery, Motivational Interviewing.  Ability to complete a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. Working knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies relating to mental health agencies and resources and effectively implement planned change through both line and staff relationships within the program.

 

We offer a competitive base salary. In addition, the state's contribution toward your insurance, retirement, and Medicare and Social Security benefits is equal to 30 percent of your salary.  This does not include the cost of vacation time, holidays, sick leave and other benefits. Employees earn 11 paid holidays per year.  Health insurance is free to employees who work 3/4 time or more. Dependent coverage is $63.00 semi-monthly.  Dental insurance is $2.50 semi-monthly for employee coverage.
